The LCD TV that blogging bought

In the tradition of “The xxx that blogging (or Adsense) bought” articles popularized by other bloggers such as Darren Rowse (who bought a house), Abe (Mitsubishi Lancer ‘97), J. Racoma (Toyota Corolla GLi ‘97), Marghil (Acer laptop), and Markku (Asus laptop) here comes my own story: The LCD TV that blogging bought.

I’m not usually the type who immediately spends what I earn. I prefer to reinvest the earnings I get from Adsense, stocks, and mutual funds into other income opportunities so as to further maximize the return.

But this time, I decided to pamper myself and give myself an early birthday and Christmas gift. After encashing my $1,000+ earnings from Google Adsense via Western Union last week, I headed off to Abenson’s in Market! Market! at The Fort and bought this 32-inch LCD TV.

For several months now, I had my eyes on Samsung’s LA32R81B Bordeaux Plus 32-inch LCD TV which costs P55,000. I’ve already decided on getting it, although I don’t like its glossy, black frame that reflects glare and the fact that it does not have Split Screen or Picture-in-Picture (PIP) function.

LG’s 32-inch 32LC2R LCD TV, on the other hand, has Split Screen and PIP, and its frame is charcoal-colored which does not reflect light. What ultimately led me to choose this is when the salesman told me they have brought down the price of the few remaining stocks, from P60,000 to P40,000. That’s a sure bargain, I thought, it’s difficult to find a decent 32-inch LCD TV right now that costs that much. So I bought it.

Tada! One-month earnings down the drain, but at least I got a souvenir mounted on my wall.
