Yesterday I finally got hold of my UP Centennial commemorative 100-peso bank notes.
In celebration of the centennial of the University of the Philippines, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas printed limited copies of P100 bills with an overprint of the UP Oblation, the symbol of the country’s premier state university, to the right of former Philippine Pres. Manuel Roxas.
I got four, uncut pieces of P100 bills but I paid P1,000 so basically I paid a premium of P150 on each bill.
I just hope the bills will increase in value over time. I’m thinking (or hoping) I could sell each P100 bill for P1,000 or probably even P10,000 some years later. Wishful thinking haha.
The package come with a protective plastic and folder. The four-piece set is being sold for P1,000 at the UP Alumni Center.
There are only 10,000 sets printed so if you want to get your own copy, grab one now.
